Windows 12 will be launched in 2024 and computers will be updated
The launch of Windows 12 A rumor circulated a few days ago that an important update to Microsoft's main Windows operating system is in preparation. Even if no one knows whether this potential new version will be called Windows 12, it seems certain that it will not be suitable for all computers according to their capabilities and that it is a decisive factor in the renewal of computers and equipment that Windows brands depend on.
This information originated from a leaked conversation that Intel's CFO, David Zinsner, had during a phone briefing with financial analysts. He discussed the growth potential in the market by revealing the upcoming arrival of Windows 12 and its integrated AI. The new Windows could revolutionize the use of our computers, but the basic requirements needed to take advantage of it keep most current computers off the market. A major wave of renewal is therefore expected.
We think 2024 will be a very good year for the PC market, especially thanks to Windows updates. The current hardware in Windows PCs is relatively old and will likely be upgraded significantly in the next year.
Windows 12 and its AI will require a major and profound revamp of PC hardware.
AI Co-processor |
The rumors that followed this leak are many, but among them all, there may be one plausible path: committing to an AI coprocessor to take advantage of Windows 12 in the best conditions. To be realistic, as we speak now, only Intel's Meteor Lake processors, which are scheduled to arrive at the end of the year, have what could be (erroneously) called a dedicated AI coprocessor. However, this doesn't mean that other older processors can't have the latest version of Windows... but due to advancements, updating hardware will quickly become necessary.
During the Intel Innovation Conference a few weeks ago, the presence of AI processing capability on-premises hardware (in the processor/SoC) was mentioned several times. The main argument for the existence of this new "engine" is security and confidentiality. Obviously, it is difficult to imagine widespread adoption of technologies that raise so many questions without giving security guarantees to users... It now remains to be seen what this artificial intelligence will really bring to the user because in reality everything goes through that.
When is windows 12 released?
So far, Windows 12 does not exist at the present time, and the latest version of Windows is Windows 11 . Anyone who claims or posts a download link for Windows 12 likely contains malware or may be a form of fraud.
